Amel Benattia
Amel Benattia (she/her) hails from the financial world. Having earned a bachelor of business degree from the H.E.C Hautes Etudes Commerciales Institute in Tunis, she pursued her education In Canada and earned an MBA (Master of Business Administration) degree in Finance and Accounting from the University of Windsor, Ontario.
Following her graduation, Amel joined IBM Canada headquarters as a Financial Analyst where she spent 6 very successful years. She then moved to Switzerland and started working as a Senior Financial Analyst at General Electric in their Digital Energy office in Ticino. She returned to Canada in 2007 where she pursued her career for General Electric in the same capacity. She earned a CPA (Certified Professional Accountant) designation in 2012 while working for the Sick Kids Hospital in Toronto as a Senior Financial Analyst, then she was promoted to Finance Manager working for the Surgery department.
Amel is grateful for her successful financial career but she knew she had to indulge into her other passion: fashion. Growing up, she used to create outfits for herself, friends,and dolls and her favorite activity on weekends was to watch shows about Fashion. Her bedside magazines included Vogue and L’officiel. She earned a degree in Fashion Techniques and Design from Toronto’s Georges Brown College in 2020. She then started her design company Solis Fashion Studio in 2021 and the brand Loladorafashion was born in January of the same year.
Amel is married and has 2 children Yasin & Sarah. She fluently speaks 4 languages including English, French, Italian and Arabic. She spends her time between Tunis and Toronto. In her spare time, she enjoys long walks in nature, reading books and traveling.
